They will not be allowed to drive their personal cars as well for the three days of the conference but will use buses provided by the organizers.
This was revealed by organizers of the event who said the conference will be so sensitive that they cannot take any chance to have guests roam freely and commute daily to the conference which will be held at the UN Complex in Gigiri.
Besides, the US Government is concerned about the security of President Obama and will not allow the guests to get ‘contaminated’ and attend the event at the same time due to security reasons.
The over 4,000 guests, among them 800 journalists and 2, 500 business executives, entrepreneurs and investors cleared to attend the GES will have to forgo the comfort of their houses, cars and aides for the three days as they will be locked up in city hotels and will not be allowed out.
The journalists will be booked at one venue to be secured by the US Secret Service and Kenya’s Reccee Squad, while the delegates will be booked in a separate hotel with top notch security.
Besides security, it would be easier to monitor guests as well as control traffic to and from Gigiri.
This comes even as it emerged that Obama and President Uhuru Kenyatta will attend the summit for just a couple of hours on 25th of July.
