Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General, Ababu Namwamba, has for the first time attempted to explain why former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, was beaten hands down by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, in the 2013 Presidential Election.
Speaking in Posta Grounds, Bungoma town, when he launched a drive to have youths take up ID cards, Namwamba said those labelling him a Jubilee mole were behind Raila Odinga’s failure to clinch the Presidency in 2013.
Namwamba said that as a mature politician, he knows when to play politics and when to fight for development.
“Who said that when you sit with Jubilee leaders to discuss development you are a mole?” Namwamba posed.
He said Luhya leaders had no option but to dialogue with the Government to bail out the ailing Mumias Sugar Company.
“When we sat with them, didn’t you see Sh1 billion shillings come? Isn’t that development?” He asked.
He maintained that he is still in CORD and he is still loyal to former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, who he termed as a “President in waiting”.
