Before she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in '12 Years a Slave,' Lupita Nyong'o studied Drama at the prestigious Yale School in New Haven, Connecticut.

But as she reveals, she was a bit depressed during her first days at Yale, call it culture shock but Yale’s system was all so foreign to her as she was used to exams and grades which were none existent in the Ivy League University .

“I was so used to this system in Kenya where examinations and grades are an integral part of the education system. For a moment I was depressed, even wondered if it was worth the while.” she says .
