Deputy President William Ruto has trashed the court ruling that almost legalized homosexuality in the country saying Kenya has no room for gays and lesbians.

Speaking during a church service at Jesus Winner Ministry in Kasarani, Ruto assured the religious community that the Jubilee Government will never support homosexuality.

He said as staunch Christians, Uhuru and him will not support homosexuality as it goes against both Christian values and human nature. Besides, they are not gays to support the unnatural culture.

“Gays and lesbians have no place in this country. We will stand with religious leaders to defend our faith and believes. We will not allow homosexuality in our society as it violates our religious and cultural beliefs,” said Ruto.

“This is God-fearing nation and there’s no room for lesbians and gays. That one I can assure you,” he added.

This comes even Attorney General, Prof. Githu Muigai, plans to appeal the court ruling legalizing homosexuality in Kenya.

In the ruling, High Court Judges Isaac Lenaola, Mumbi Ngugi and George Odunga ordered the NGO Coordination Board to register gays and lesbians lobby groups to champion for their rights and freedoms.
