The Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, through the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), has suspended over 367 alcoholic beverages brands as part of the ongoing crackdown on illicit brews in the country.

In a Statement to the Press, KEBS Director, Charles Ongwae, said the suspended brands did not meet the required standards and warned Kenyans never to purchase or use them because they are dangerous.

Ongwae also issued a letter to all manufacturers to stop production of portable spirits until they are inspected and cleared by the Inter-Government Agency Team.
