Obondo, who is a known thug and gun for hire in Migori, was stabbed to death by his attacker after a short quarrel.
When the news of his death came to the fore, there was little celebration and a sigh of relief from Migori residents, who say that he has been terrorizing them for years.
Many of his victims, some of who are nursing serious injuries, ranging from stab wounds to acid burns, thanked the man who killed him saying the town was now free.
Before his death, Obondo, who was a gun for hire and worked closely with a two-term MP from Migori County, was on the run from the police who were looking for him to face justice for over 15 cases against him.
The incident in Migori where he hurled a shoe at Uhuru attracted nationwide condemnation that prompted Governor Okoth Obado to lead a delegation from Nyanza to State House to apologize to the President.
His killer is yet to be identified but police say they are on top of things to unmask him.
