The just concluded by-election in Ugenya North Ward is causing ODM strategists and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga some sleepless nights.<br />
<br />
Even after his candidate, Shaban Omar, beat Uhuru/ Ruto’s JAP candidate, Steve Mwanga, with 3, 370 votes against 1, 672 votes, Raila Odinga is not happy and has been worried since.<br />
<br />
This is after it emerged that Uhuru/ Ruto’s man got almost half of the total votes cast in his Luo Nyanza stronghold, something that has never happened before.<br />
<br />
Speaking yesterday, ODM Secretary General, Ababu Namwamba, confirmed Raila Odinga’s worst fears, saying the outcome in the just concluded by-election spells doom for the party and the former PM as it shows the ground is shifting fast against him and ODM.<br />
<br />
He said the results were a clear indication that ODM and Raila are losing ground and popularity in Luo Nyanza but blamed the shoddy nominations for the bad performance in ODM strongholds.<br />
<br />
“It is not a secret, shoddy nominations in the party is what is costing us now and if the trend continues, ODM will lose even the obvious seats to Uhuru/ Ruto in 2017,” said Namwamba.<br />

Over the weekend, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), in collaboration with security personnel, recovered an assortment of weapons of mass destruction when they raided Al Shabaab hideouts in Garissa County.<br />
<br />
The weapons included 7 pistols, 7 grenades, 15 magazines and 20 rounds of ammunition.<br />
<br />
Addressing the press yesterday when he displayed the cache of weapons, North Eastern Regional Coordinator, Mohamud Saleh, also confirmed the arrest of several Al Shabaab terrorists of various nationalities during the operation.<br />
<br />
He noted that the operation was based on intelligence and tips from members of the public that enabled security agencies track the criminals down.<br />
<br />
Saleh noted that the officers were pursuing more Al Shabaab suspects who escaped their dragnet and that very soon they will be caught.<br />
<br />
The operation also led to the arrest of seven Tanzanians who were trying to cross over to Somalia to join Al Shabaab, as well as 2 Al-Shabaab brides, a Kenyan and a Tanzanian, who were arrested just before they crossed over to the war-torn country.<br />

A section of Wiper Democratic Movement MPs have accused Machakos Governor, Dr Alfred Mutua, of trying to divide the Kamba community ahead of the 2017 general Elections.<br />

Speaking on Monday, Yatta MP, Francis Mwangangi, and his Kathiani counterpart, Robert Mbui, criticised Mutua saying he is being used by Jubilee Alliance to divide the Kamba community who are always united in every General Election.<br />
<br />
Mwangangi said Mutua and a number of Machakos County MPs should respect those who are older than them and learn some leadership tips from them instead of using their positions to dislodge them.<br />
<br />
“I was not elected on a Wiper Party ticket but I have a reason to defend Kalonzo since he’s the community’s elder and time to replace him is not yet ripe,” Mwangangi said.<br />
<br />
On his part, Mbui said Mutua is being funded by the Jubilee Government to destabilize Ukambani the way they have destabilised Western Kenya.<br />
<br />
“How can the people of Machakos elect a Governor and later start turning against the community’s leader. This is ridiculous and the Governor should learn from history about those who have tried such a mission,” Mbui said.<br />
<br />
The MP begged Mutua to ask for forgiveness from Kalonzo if he wants to be re-elected in 2017.

Flamboyant Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has once again done what he loves doing - helping those in need and the less fortunate in society.<br />
<br />
The flamboyant Senator settled the entire medical bill for 69-year old Conrad Njeru Karukenya, popularly known as Tiger Power.<br />
<br />
Sonko settled the bill for Mr. Tiger Power, who had been admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital over a strange malady the doctors called body swelling, before he secured his release from hospital on Friday and took him home in person with the support of his rescue team.<br />
<br />
“Today, together with my paramedics, we visited Kenyan legend, Conrad Njeru Karukenya, also known as Tiger Power, at Kenyatta National Hospital. We cleared all his medical bills and took him home after he was discharged,” Sonko posted on social media.<br />
<br />
“Conrad Njeru is famed for his extraordinary strength and has performed across. Some of Conrad’s greatest feats include carrying 8 men and lifting a crate of beer with his bare teeth. In 2012, Conrad came in second at the Super Human competition in UK. We wish him a quick recovery,” he added.<br />
<br />
Since he was hospitalized, no high ranking Government official or celebrity, safe for Sonko and Jaguar, visited him despite his great achievements for Kenya in his prime.<br />

Unlike most of my friends, I am a huge fan of Kenyan radio. I listen to local radio whenever I can, which is mostly on my way to work or school.<br />
<br />
Mention a radio station and I will give you a list of my favourite presenters, their shows and what time they are on air.<br />
<br />
Which is why I feel that I am an authority in the field of local radio. And who is better placed to give advice to future radio presenters on how to be a radio presenter in Kenya? You guessed it.<br />
<br />
So here we go, boys and girls who envision a bright future in the world of local radio. Do you want to be a radio presenter in Kenya? Do you think you have what it takes? Look no further. I got you. Grab a pen and a notebook; I am only going to say this once.<br />
<br />
<b>1. Have a fake accent:</b> A fake accent is the capital requirement for a sterling career in radio. Radio is all about your voice, darling. And not just a voice. The voice. You need a smooth, adenoidal voice that will wow and awe your audience.<br />
<br />
Those TV bimbos have their curves and bouncy weaves but you have your voice. This industry requires that you have an extra something to make it. Your ‘extra something’ is an accent. You need an accent.<br />
<br />
If you don’t have an accent, fake it. It doesn’t matter if you grew up in Kariobangi or Rongai; you’ve got to have an accent to make it in the Kenyan radio scene.<br />
<br />
Don’t worry about that British or American accent nonsense. As long as you tweng your ‘r’s’ and ‘l’s’, and learn to talk really fast, you are already halfway through the path to success.<br />
<br />
You cannot get a job at a radio station without an accent, trust me, I work in the media and I know these things. Whatever you do, work hard to practice that fake accent.<br />
<br />
<b>2. Be an untalented</b>, failing musician: You can Kiss poverty goodbye and have it easy on the FM stations in Kenya if you are a waning musician. I will tell you a secret.<br />
<br />
The people who make decisions on radio these days are not exactly the sharpest tools in the box- if you know what I mean. I am told you don’t have to be smart or brilliant to be the guy who makes decisions in a local radio station. I am just quoting sources.<br />
<br />
So if you are a backfired musician, the one hit wonder type, I have good news for you. Chances are you are going to have a radio show all to yourself.<br />
<br />
This way, you are able to punish your audience by playing your songs during your show and in the process kill two birds with one stone.<br />
<br />
You do your job and get free promotion on a local radio station. It doesn’t matter if you are that female radio presenter who cannot sing (not even in your mother tongue).<br />
<br />
It won’t even matter if you are that short, male radio presenter who easily sings like a girl and dresses in cleavage revealing t-shirts.<br />
<br />
Are you a failing musician? Report to the nearest radio station. You are exactly what they are looking for!<br />
<br />
<b>3. Be semi-illiterate:</b> To work in one of the FM stations in Kenya, I am pleased to inform you that you do not need to go to school.<br />
<br />
High school drop outs are ruling our airwaves and if you are a college dropout, then I must tell you the truth, you are over qualified to work in a local radio station. If you want to be successful in radio, leave school right now.<br />
<br />
You see, there are two types of radio stations in Kenya, those that employ presenters who can speak English with an accent and those who employ presenters that barely speak English.<br />
<br />
If you are in the second category, the ones who can barely speak English, I am convinced that one of the FM stations is looking for you.<br />
<br />
If you are the semi-illiterate type that cannot make a sensible argument on air, you are needed at one of the FM stations for an evening rush hour or ‘drive’ radio show.<br />
<br />
If those who are making decisions on radio are barely schooled, what makes you think that you need a degree to be a radio presenter?<br />
<br />
<b>4. Be a comedian: </b>A Classic hallmark of a radio presenter in Kenya is being a comedian. Local radio today is a laughing matter.<br />
<br />
Are you a comedian? Are you trying to be a comedian? Do you masquerade as a comedian, regurgitating internet and twitter jokes on evening comedy shows?<br />
<br />
Were you a comedian but went broke? Or a comedian with a TV show that needs publicity? Or maybe a comedian who can fake a Luo or Luhya accent very well?<br />
<br />
Or perhaps a comedian with a fake Nigerian accent, name and tasteless Nigerian garb? Or a wannabe comedian that wants to be a comedian but doesn’t know how to?<br />
<br />
End your search. I am going to give you free career advice. Walk into a radio station and say that you are a comedian who can fake a Luo accent and you will be directed to the human resource office to sign a contract and you will start as soon as you are ready!<br />

Neno Evangelism Senior Pastor, James Maina Ng’ang’a, was  released on a Sh 500, 000 bail or a one million shilling bond with a surety of a similar amount on Friday in a case where he is charged with causing death by dangerous driving on July 26.<br />
<br />
While delivering the ruling, Limuru Senior Magistrate, Timothy Tanchu, said that he released the controversial Pastor on bail because the court’s Prosecution failed to provide sufficient reasons why Ng’ang’a should be denied bail as he had cooperated with the police during the entire period of investigations.<br />
<br />
Ng’ang’a, who appeared confused after his release, was seen shaking his head as an army of journalists tried to compete on who will take the best shot of the charlatan Pastor.<br />
<br />
Speaking to journalists after his 2 day incarceration at Gigiri Police Station, Ng’ang’a used the Kikuyu language to communicate and said, “Ngai mohere tondu matiuyi  uria marekaga. (God forgive them because they don’t know what they were doing,”<br />
<br />
He also requested a police officer who was by his side to give him two minutes so that he can pray.<br />
<br />
When he was released, a mammoth crowd of his supporters waved placards threatening police officers who arrested Ng'ang'a.<br />
<br />
“The Bible says never touch the anointed,” one of the placards read.<br />
<br />
Ng’ang’a, who has a huge following in Nairobi, said he will deliver a big testimony on Sunday and asked his congregation to turn in large numbers to hear his prophetic message.<br />

A KTN journalist, who had gone to cover a robbery incident at Neno Evangelism Pastor, James Maina Nganga’s home in Karen on Friday is nursing serious injuries after he was attacked by a machete wielding man believed to be the Pastor’s herd’s boy.<br />

The journalist was among many others who were chased away like dogs by youth armed with machetes.<br />
<br />
The reporters had gone to the preacher’s home following reports that robbers had stolen an unspecified amount of money believed to be more than Sh500, 000.<br />
<br />
The robbery which detectives say was stage managed happened at around 3.30 am where thugs gained entry into the house by cutting window grills.<br />
<br />
The youths accused journalists of tarnishing the name of their employer by calling him a fake pastor.<br />
<br />
“Pastor Nganga is a man of God and anyone seen tarnishing his name will be dealt with ruthlessly,” one youth roared.<br />

Journalists were forced to seek assistance from police who guarded them outside Nganga’s home.

The backlash against the unethical behaviour by police officers, who took and circulated n*d* photos of Kirinyaga students who had s*x and smoked bh@ng in a Nairobi-bound bus, is far from over.<br />

A child rights’ agency petitioned Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, to publicly name and shame all police officers who took the n*d* photos of students and circulated them on social media.<br />
<br />
The Kenya Alliance for Advancement of Children (KAACR) took issue with one particular photo of female student who was str!pp*d n@k*d and had her private parts exposed to the pubic level after she was discovered hiding drugs in her pants.<br />
<br />
Speaking yesterday, KAACR Director, Tim Ekesa, told Boinnet to take serious disciplinary action against the officers responsible for circulating the n*d* photos of the minors, saying such action is uncouth and uncultured.<br />
<br />
“As much as children erred in conducting themselves in unbecoming behavior, they did not deserve the kind of mistreatment we have seen in the print, electronic and social media,” said Ekesa.<br />
<br />
“Circulating n()d£ photos of a minor, more so a girl not only makes children and the police who alerted the police lose faith in the already low-keyed Kenyan police, but also literally kills the future of a child and other children who look up to them for prosecution,” he added.<br />

Well, this became a reality for the founder of Neno Evangelism Centre, Apostle James Maina Ng’ang’a, who was arrested yesterday by Flying Squad and locked up at Gigiri Police Station for killing Mercy Njeri and attempting to circumvent justice.<br />
<br />
His wife, Loise Murugi, who only recently exposed the lie that is her rogue husband, Ng’anga, visited him at the police cell to offer both moral and financial support.<br />
<br />
Loise, who filed for divorce one year after a glamorous wedding with the rogue pastor in 2012, was caught on camera busy moving up and down at the police station and even talking to detectives, ostensibly to secure the release of her ex-husband, after his lawyers failed to save him from the long arm of the law.<br />
<br />
She put her past behind her to fight for the man she once loved and who later turned to be the ‘beast and the devil incarnate’.<br />
<br />
In her divorce papers, Loise termed Ng’ang’a as a drunkard, wife batterer and an adulterous ‘servant of God’ who sleeps with his staff and brings married women from his church to their matrimonial bed to have s*x.<br />
<br />
But even with all that in her mind, Ng’ang’a’s ex-wife still had some soft spot for him and did a lot for him yesterday that the rogue pastor himself did not imagine could happen.<br />
<br />
And as it appears, Ng’ang’a’s arrest brought his ‘wife’ back to him.<br />

Over the weekend, wealthy city businessman, Jared Otieno, brought businessman to a standstill as he headed to Meru to pay dowry for his soon to be wife, Kendi Mwiti.<br />

1. LOOK EXPENSIVE<br />
<br />
With thousands of young, clueless congregants who plant a seed at your whim, you are bound to have tons of money. Dress expensively. Have as many expensive, shiny kitenges as you can amass and complement those dresses with sky-high heels you can barely walk in. It doesn’t matter if you are naturally not classy, the whole idea is to look expensive and well fed (as you call “fat”).<br />
<br />
While at it, ensure you pile on a cake of make-up. Don’t forget your fake lashes and devilishly long, red, fake nails. To complete your look, throw on an expensive Brazilian weave. Ensure the weave is colourful. The Lord loves a colourful weaver! Even better if your weave resembles the South African flag.<br />
<br />
Remember, a polished look is attractive to those naïve female followers who admire your lifestyle. An expensive look is great for the prosperity gospel that you are hawking. You want the young women in your congregation to think they can be you someday. Who better to teach them than the Reverend, the Queen Bee herself?<br />
<br />
2. DEVELOP A CONVINCING FAKE ACCENT<br />
<br />
It doesn’t matter if you were raised in Ndumberi or Wanyee. Or if you landed in Nairobi 20 years ago, an unschooled, pregnant village girl. It doesn’t even matter that you never studied theology at a reputable college. Girl, you’ve got to roll that tongue. You know worr am sayin’? Have some swag in your speech. Twang to your word as you teach the Word, sister!<br />
<br />
3. BE EXTRAVAGANT<br />
<br />
You have 99 problems but money isn’t one of them. We do not serve a poor God, so why should a woman of God, a servant of the Most High, live like a pauper? Flaunt your wealth on Instagram. Let your haters hate on Twitter, sorry, twirra. Be the poster child for the prosperity gospel you are marketing. Go golfing on Mondays. I mean, who works on Mondays? Holiday in exotic places.<br />
<br />
Take lots of photos. Upload them on social media. Drive those guzzlers you purchased with those poor people’s offerings. A woman of God must live like a queen. Isn’t Christ the King, after all?<br />
<br />
Your children too must not be left behind. Teach them to be spendthrifts. The Lord blesses us and our children’s children. Remember the story of Abraham? Buy your daughters sleek cars and take them to affluent schools abroad. The congregation is paying for it.<br />
<br />
4. IMAGE IS EVERYTHING<br />
<br />
Show off your bishop husband. Act like the perfect couple. You are too good to have marital problems. Tell the whole world what a lucky woman you are. Pose on every magazine cover, holding each other like lovesick teenagers. Post pictures of the two of you on social media in your biker gear, leaning against your Harley-Davidson motorbikes. Ensure you mention your husband and how much the two of you are inseparable, in every media interview.<br />
<br />
But don’t forget to be very protective of your husband; you can never trust those sisters in church. They are the agents of the devil; little Jezebelic demons in high, noisy heels. Make sure your office is right outside his office in your church building. You want to inspect every woman who comes into the Bishop’s office. The devil is not an ugly creature with a tail and horns; the devil is a pretty little liar that feigns marital problems to have Bishop lay hands on her.<br />
<br />
Ensure these pretty liars pass by your office first. You are the perfect wife. You will solve their cheating-husband problems. The only pretty girl the Bishop will see is you. You are the fairest of them all!<br />
<br />
5. BRAINWASH THE SISTERS<br />
<br />
Your congregation is vulnerable, but the female members are more vulnerable. Their weakness is your strength. Doesn’t the Bible say in 2nd Corinthians 12:9: “My strength is made perfect in weakness?” Gather the “daughters” once every month and brainwash their silly little brains. Transform their lives by the renewal and removal of their brains sister! Capitalise on their marital problems and their endless search for husbands.<br />
<br />
Indoctrinate those naïve childless, husbandless women with the false promise of prosperity. Feed them with half-truths, deceptive arguments and logical fallacies about the kind of men they should marry. Use the Bible to make superficially sound arguments that have immense power to brainwash. You must tell them not to date those losers who live in Eastlands and Roysambu. Of course, don’t forget to tell these defenceless, desperate women to plant a seed to get a husband. Make them call you “mum” to give them a false sense of security.<br />
<br />
To make you popular, start a television show and invite ne’er-do-wells to discuss their “success stories”. Talk half the time throughout your show and make it all about you. You are the gospel diva. Before the show is over, sing one of your songs. It ain’t over until the fat lady sings.<br />
<br />
6. KNOW YOUR TARGET MARKET<br />
<br />
Your church is your business. Mastery of your target market is the key to a breakthrough. To maximise on your capital gains, be very clear about your market and ensure the whole world knows about it.<br />
<br />
Poor people from Eastlands are not welcome to your church. Make that crystal clear. Who needs poor people?<br />
<br />
And why are these people so poor? Why isn’t everyone successful like you? Why can’t everyone live in a palatial estate like you? Why isn’t everyone smart like you? Poor people are such a nag; they should stay within a 77 mile radius from your church. Poor people are a bad omen. They are devil’s agents.<br />
<br />
They cannot tithe. All they need is prayers to raise rent. Ensure your church is located at a nice address where the poor people would have to go through a forest to find a road to get to it. Only Jesus loves poor people, and you are not Jesus. You are a businesswoman. The exotic holiday won’t pay itself.<br />
<br />
Of course, there are other tips, like pride, self-importance and condemning columnists (like this one) to eternal torment and annihilation.<br />
<br />
Sisters, my prayer for you this Saturday is that may the Lord bless you and keep you, shine His face upon you, but may He especially extend your boundaries and fill your little purses with his wealth and richness. Amen?<br />

Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has done it again as he extends his philanthropy beyond Kenya’s borders.<br />

The flamboyant Senator offered to transport the decomposing body of a Kenyan youth, who was brutally murdered in Juba, South Sudan, under unclear circumstances, to Kenya together with his belongings after the Jubilee Government refused to help.<br />
<br />
Sonko was touched by the sad story of 21-year old Rodgers Oyaro Manono from Kisii, whose decomposing body was discovered on 12th of August in Juba, South Sudan.<br />
<br />
His poor family has been unable to ferry the body back home and their efforts to seek help from the Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, to fly the body of their kin to Kisii for a decent burial have been futile as the Government turned them down, prompting the South Sudan Government to resolve to bury the young Rodgers in a mass grave.<br />
<br />
However, when the story reached Sonko, he did not waste any time as he secured an air ticket to fly the body to Kenya via Fly 540 before the authorities in Juba complicated matters even further.<br />
<br />
Sonko did not give up there, he offered to transport the body to Kenya via road only to bump into another headwind - the body could not be identified as it had decomposed beyond recognition after it was piled up with other bodies and with no fridge.<br />
<br />
The family has now been left with no body to bury but to conduct a traditional funeral using the deceased’s belongings that Sonko will help them transport from Juba to Kisii.<br />
<br />
“We wish the Government could offer us support to identify the body and take our son’s remains to our village for a descent send off. However, we are grateful to Sonko and his rescue team for the support; even if we don’t have the body we will use the money to carry the late Oyaro’s belongings back home,” said one of the cousins to the deceased.<br />

IS THE KDF AMENDMENT BILL 2015 A SCHEME TO SECURE SECOND TERM AND BEYOND FOR PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA?<br />
<br />
Following critical analysis of the KDF Amendment Bill 2015, which proposes inter alia, to give the military a role in civilian operations contrary to the Constitution, the true intention of the drafters of the said Bill has now needs to be laid bare.<br />
<br />
First, Article 241 of the Constitution of Kenya explicitly spells out the structure and composition of KDF and its role. In particular, Article 241 (4) states that “The composition of the Command by the Defence Forces shall reflect the regional and ethnic diversity of the people of Kenya. However, the KDF Amendment Bill contravenes this provision by proposing to abolish the requirement for KDF to advertise slots per counties during military recruitment. Such proposal is likely to further ethnize the military.<br />
<br />
Second, whereas Article 201 of the Constitution of Kenya (Principles of Public Finance) states that “There shall be openness and accountability including public participation in financial matters”, the KDF Bill bars the public and law makers from scrutinising the budgetary allocations and military spending. This could open a flood gate for mega corruption in the military sector.<br />
<br />
Third, the KDF Amendment Bill contravenes Article 239 (5) of the Constitution which states that “The National Security Organs are subordinate to civilian authority. This is so because the Bill gives KDF acarte blanche for intervention in all sectors without due limitation or restriction.<br />
<br />
Forth, the KDF Amendment Bill inadvertently opens a Pandora’s box for corruption within the forces by proposing that KDF holds a separate account from that of the Ministry of Defence. This is apparently crafted to shield KDF from any financial probe by the Auditor General.<br />
<br />
Fifth, the KDF Amendment Bill will certainly entail amendment of the Constitution, the Kenya Wildlife Act, Kenya Police Service Act and the NYS Act to allow for its operationalization. Certainly, the Jubilee government is not prepared for such undertaking<br />
Sixth, a closer scrutiny of the KDF Amendment Bill reveals that it is a cut and paste work on the existing Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Act which fails to draw a clear demarcation between police and military roles and thereby politicizes the military to serve as an appendage to the ruling civilian executive.<br />
<br />
This is the case with such laws in Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Republic of Sudan, Zimbabwe and other totalitarian regimes in Africa where serving heads of state have had their terms of office unilaterally extended or have been made life President. It is feared that this could be a precursor to institutionalized electoral rigging through military intimidation as is the usual case in Zimbabwe, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.<br />
<br />
<br />
Indeed, the KDF Amendment Bill 2015 could be an attempt to ensure second and subsequent terms for President Uhuru Kenyatta. And this could be the beginning of greater political turmoil for Kenya and must therefore be opposed vigorously by all the citizens of the Country.

A CORD MP, Ben Momanyi, tried to bribe his way out of an ugly accident after his vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser VX, hit and killed a pedestrian in Eldoret, early this month.<br />

According to witnesses who were at the scene of the accident, the Wiper MP who floored Ruto's Weston Hotel partner, Patrick Osero in Borabu, was in the company of a prostitute who he had picked at a popular club in Eldoret.<br />
<br />
One witness said that Ben, who is very vocal when it comes to opposition matters in Nyamira County, was behind the wheel but it was later reported that his driver was the one who was driving the car.<br />
<br />
“We saw the MP and his clandestine lover flee the scene of the accident but later we were told it was his driver who was driving the car,” a witness said.<br />
<br />
Eldoret residents are now asking Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinett, to investigate the incident and ensure that justice is delivered to the family of the deceased<br />
<br />
“We demand justice because we know police officers in Eldoret are covering up for Mheshimiwa who is known for his deep pockets,” another witness said.

I am an evangelist of clean living. I have never taken alcohol. I have never done drugs or smoked cigarettes. I avoid junk food as much as I can. I don’t party on weekend nights and I prefer to curl up with a good book or a movie.<br />
<br />
On weekends, I go for a run or a long walk with my boyfriend and I try to go to church as often as I can.<br />
<br />
But most of all, the greatest boost to my clean living is my ability to stay off social media. I am not on Facebook — those Facebook pages with my name are idle imposters. I am on Twitter, but only because I think Twitter is more intelligent. More importantly, I am not on Instagram.<br />
<br />
Now, I thought I had hit the final nail on the Instagram coffin until I learned about ‘The Rich Kids of Instagram’— Kenyan chapter.<br />
<br />
You must be wondering what on earth I am talking about. Rich Kids of Instagram — the Kenyan chapter is a group of spoilt, rich brats who show off their parents’ wealth on social media.<br />
<br />
These are basically children with rotten minds and morals alike, who have taken it upon themselves to document their opulent lives on social media. It is very sickening.<br />
<br />
My friend allowed me a peek into one of these Instagram accounts and I am telling you it is a dizzying cacophony of vanity, conceit and peacocking at its best.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>HOLIDAY DESTINATION</b><br />
<br />
The razzmatazz on these Instagram accounts is nauseating. I will tell you about one young woman; the daughter of a celebrated businesswoman. From designer bags, to designer shoes. To holidays abroad. Expensive wine and food, her Instagram account is an embarrassment to all the hard work and persistence exhibited by her mother, who, by the way, I really admire.<br />
<br />
Then I am told there is this young man; the son of a certain governor who openly boasts about how daddy will bankroll his holiday to some God-awful holiday destination.<br />
I am just getting started.<br />
<br />
Oh, and there is this daughter of a certain ‘flamboyant’ senator who recently posted pictures of herself holding a gun and iced the cake with #thuglife. What the hell is going on here?<br />
I don’t care if your mother is a billionaire, your father a scandalous governor or a ‘flamboyant’ God-forsaken senator.<br />
<br />
I don’t care if you drive a Bugatti or a high-end Mercedes Benz or if you own a Hermes bag. I know you are surrounded by minions who praise you and thank you for posting those pictures because you ‘inspire’ them.<br />
<br />
You are probably surrounded by ‘friends’ who think you are God’s gift to them, that you are their inspiration and they love you. Not me.<br />
<br />
I will be the one to tell you the truth. What your broke little boyfriend won’t tell you, or those sycophants who like every Instagram post you upload do not have the courage to tell you.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>NO CLASS</b><br />
<br />
First of all, to be in your 20s and still depending on mom and dad means only one thing — you are a loser. They didn’t do a good job raising you and you are a failure. You are a loser and a failure and that is pathetic.<br />
<br />
That money you are flaunting is not yours. That car, that pair of shoes, that bag and that holiday you are flaunting on social media, was not paid for by the sweat of your brow. Mommy and daddy started their small business in some warehouse, it grew to a million-dollar company and it is not yours. You may inherit it, but it is not yours.<br />
<br />
So stop the ‘inspiration’ and ‘self-expressing’ nonsense, come down your high horse, sit down and let me school you.<br />
I have said here so many times before, that money will buy you all the stylish things in this world but money can never buy you class. Simple.<br />
<br />
There is no class in flaunting what mummy and daddy bought you. In any case, we all know that the rich kids are the dumbest children, the weakest in class and the bottom feeders when it comes to academics. So let’s not lie to each other that you are brilliant or smart.<br />
Even with your expensive education in international schools, you still cannot think on your feet, fend for yourself and survive on your own. Otherwise why would you need daddy’s money in your late 20s?<br />
<br />
So don’t try and show us that you are this hardworking entrepreneur who owns a company. Calling yourself an entrepreneur is a defilement of the very spirit and true meaning of the term entrepreneurship.<br />
<br />
<b>BOTTOM FEEDER</b><br />
<br />
An entrepreneur is not an egotist stooge that gets a grant of a few million shillings from mummy and daddy and a credit card to finance his excessive spending. You are not an entrepreneur you are a bottom feeder.<br />
<br />
I know a lot of you will say that I am ‘hating’ probably because my folks are not wealthy. You are right. My folks are not wealthy.<br />
<br />
In fact, some people perhaps think of them as ‘struggling’. I have lost count of the many times I was sent out of school for school fees in secondary school but I got a job at 19 and paid my college fees. And Daystar doesn’t come cheap.<br />
<br />
So that is why I am not going to sit here, as people bastardise inspiration, hard work and persistence.<br />
<br />
Those rich kids of Instagram — Kenyan chapter, need to realise that we are not interested in what they have acquired from their parents’ wealth, some of which is acquired in unscrupulous means, I may add.<br />
<br />
We are not interested in seeing a photo of a car whose log book does not bear your name or shoes and jewelry not bought with your own money.<br />
<br />
The truth is, the really wealthy people do not show off their wealth on social media or anywhere at all. They keep quiet. Success is their noise. So shut up and start working!

She is arguably Kenya’s most revered Swahili anchor. Lulu, who hosts Nipashe Wikendi with Kanze Dena, has had a long journey to get to where she is today. She recently sat down with Citizen Digital and shared her life story. Here are eight things you probably did not know about her:<br />
<br />
<b>She’s got Seychellois roots</b><br />
<br />
Lulu, who is the first born in a family of three girls, grew up in Mombasa.<br />
<br />
“Being the first born, I did not face any hardships while growing up; I was taken to one of the best schools in Mombasa – Aga Khan Academy,” she said.<br />
<br />
Her mother, Mariam Abu, passed away in 2007 after being unwell, and Lulu had to take care of her two younger sisters.<br />
<br />
“It wasn’t difficult taking my sisters to school since mum left us with some wealth. She had a real estate business which I began managing upon her demise. I’d been helping earlier, so it was not difficult to take over,” revealed Lulu.<br />
<br />
Contrary to common belief, she’s not Somali. Her late mother had both Seychellois and Kikuyu roots, and father too was of Seychellois descent.<br />
<br />
<b>She trained as cabin crew hostess</b><br />
<br />
Before pursuing journalism, Lulu trained as a cabin crew hostess, human resource manager and ticketing officer at Salrene Travel Operations College.<br />
<br />
“When I landed a radio job in Mombasa, I thought it would be good to have journalism skills. So I went back to school and studied the course,” said Lulu.<br />
<br />
<b>She used to read English news</b><br />
<br />
Back in 2008, Lulu was a household name in Mombasa thanks to her news presenter job at Radio Salaam. Interestingly, she used to read news in English and not Swahili.<br />
<br />
<b>So, how did she transition to TV?</b><br />
<br />
“When I was a presenter at Radio Salaam in 2008, a KTN cameraman informed me there was crisis at their station.  Two of their Swahili anchors were going for maternity leave, and they needed someone to step in. He asked me to try my luck. Being a risk taker, I went for a screen test and I made the cut.”<br />
<br />
She was involved in a road crash in 2010.<br />
<br />
Back in 2010, while working at KTN, Lulu was involved in a terrible road accident. Her left leg was injured, and it is still affected now. The injury keeps her from joining her studio guests in dance, Lulu reveals.<br />
<br />
<b>She wishes her mother could see her on TV.</b><br />
<br />
There’s nothing like a parent’s approval, and Lulu wishes her late mother could see her read news. Her lowest moment was when she had just landed her first TV job and she thought about her mother while she was on air.<br />
<br />
“It was my first day as an anchor, and I got flustered on air when I thought about my mother. I felt so sad. There I was as an anchor, but mum wasn’t alive to celebrate me – all along she had wished to see me reading news on national television,” Lulu recalls.<br />
<br />
<b>She doesn’t care for fame.</b><br />
<br />
Many people would get caught up in the fame that comes with being on prime time TV, but not Lulu.<br />
<br />
“I don’t see being a news anchor as a big deal. Fame does not get into my head. Anybody at home can send me to the shop, and I would go without feeling I am too much of a celebrity for that.”<br />
<br />
<b>She met her husband, Rashid Abdalla, at work.</b><br />
<br />
Lulu is married to QTV presenter Rashid Abdalla, and she met him back at Radio Salaam. He’d heard her voice on Radio, and he was eager to meet her in person. This was just after Lulu lost her mother, and he was there for her through her grief.<br />
<br />
“When I remembered my mother I would cry a lot and Rashid was always there to offer me a shoulder to lean on. With time I grew so close to him. The rest is history,” she recalls smiling.<br />
<br />
Lulu revealed that since then she has always found a friend in Rashid. Together they are blessed with two sons: Jibran, 4, and Irfan, 1.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>She had a big wedding.</b><br />
<br />
When Lulu tied the knot with Rashid, her neighbours and friends came in large numbers to celebrate their union.<br />
<br />
“When Rashid and I wedded, most guests were people whom I did not know.  Out of love they came in large numbers to celebrate my big day,” tells Lulu.<br />
<br />
Since her late mother was not there to ‘give her away’ as is customary, her neighbours and friends stepped in. For this reason, the soft spoken newsreader describes Kenyans as loving and caring people.<br />

A shocking new revelation has emerged on the deplorable conditions Kenyan workers are subjected to while in Saudi Arabia. The latest revelation, in what has become a constant headline maker about the poor conditions of Kenyans in the Middle East, features a group of women who have been locked up in Tarhill, a detention centre in Saudi Arabia.<br />
<br />
The revelation was brought to light by US based Kenyan rapper Nelson Muriuki. He also brought to light and started a petition to save Martha Nyaguthii, a Kenyan lady in a coma at a hospital in the Middle Eastern country.<br />
<br />
According to Nelson, he received a video call on Sunday afternoon from a group of women who have only one wish: to come back home.<br />
<br />
He posted on Facebook, I received an anonymous video call on FB an hour ago and what I saw scared the hell out of my blood system!! 160 Kenyan women locked in a detention center, desperate and helpless. All of them have one golden wish “To go back Home.” The living conditions inside the Tarlhill is a violation of every form of human right!<br />
<br />
Here is a summary of what I saw with my 2 eyes:<br />
<br />
1: Overcrowded rooms with women lying on cold floors or upto 3 people sharing one bed or sleeping in shifts!<br />
2: Hygiene: This is the biggest disaster!! The women receive no sanitary pads or proper hygiene articles. Many are lying there sick especially with Diarrhea and other diseases. I quote “all we get here ni PANADOL tu!!”. They complained of dirty toilettes which are a major source of all these ailments.<br />

The Rwandan military revealed that a Rwandan soldier serving with the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Central African Republic shot dead four Rwandan troops and injured eight others before committing suicide. The incident happened at 5.45am on Saturday August 8th at the Rwandan battalion headquarters in Bangui, the CAR capital.<br />

"Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) with deep sorrow announces an unfortunate incident where one of its soldiers serving in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) shot dead four RDF soldiers and injured eight others. The soldier killed himself after shooting his comrades. The incident occurred on 08 August2015 at around 05:45. hours in Bangui, at Rwanda Battalion Headquarters (RWABATT 2) located at 5th Arrondissement SOCATEL M’POKO. The Casualties were immediately evacuated to Level two Hospital in Bangui. Investigations have immediately commenced to establish the motive behind this deplorable shooting of his RDF colleagues. We suspect terrorism without ruling out mental illness to be the cause. RDF sends heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and the entire RDF fraternity. The woman police officer who took n*d* photos of high school students after they engaged in s*x and smoked bh@ng and cigarettes in a Nairobi bound bus last week has been interdicted.<br />

The officer was interdicted following outrage over the offensive photos of a girl found in possession of bh@ng and a matchbox which she had hidden in her private parts.<br />

The pictures showing her unshaven privates and br*@sts, which were taken by the police officer, circulated and spread on social media like bush fire attracting public outrage.<br />
<br />
In a statement to the press yesterday, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said he had interdicted the woman police officer for the incident which he said could lead to a lifetime psychological torture to the student.<br />

“We are considering taking disciplinary action on the officer, especially for distributing the photos on social media after completion of the investigation,” said Boinnet.<br />

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has warned President Uhuru Kenyatta against using President Barrack Obama’s meeting with the Opposition to divert Kenyans’ attention from important matters.<br />

Speaking at a rally in Ahindi on Friday, Raila, who was accompanied by several CORD MPs, cautioned the Government against using Obama’s meeting with the Opposition to divert the attention of Kenyans from issues affecting the nation.<br />
<br />
“Our meeting with Obama was private. President Kenyatta should not lie to the nation. Obama told the Government to fight corruption and promote national unity. These are the issues the President should be telling Kenyans how he is handling them,” Raila said.<br />
<br />
“We told Obama to help reform the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) by establishing a reputable ICT platform so that future elections are not stolen. We also told him to assist Kenya achieve the one third gender rule because the Jubilee Government is not ready to implement it. This is not betrayal,” Raila added.<br />
<br />
Raila’s sentiments were echoed by Siaya Senator, James Orengo, who wondered whether Uhuru was eavesdropping on their meeting.<br />
<br />
“Obama, in all his speeches, was rebuking the Government. When we met Obama, we were just comparing notes,” said Orengo.

US President Barrack Obama has hailed his recent trip to Kenya where he stayed for three days saying it was worth every cent.<br />

Addressing over 500 youths from around Africa in Washington, DC, Obama hailed Kenyan youth for their outstanding ability in innovation and invention as well as their competiveness in the global arena.<br />

He particularly thanked Richard Ruto and Judith Owigar for their efforts and contribution towards establishment of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) to fight hunger in Kenya.<br />
<br />
“I saw the potential that Kenyan youths have during my recent trip to Kenya and I was impressed by the progress they are making. I think the rest of Africa and world should emulate what young Kenyans are doing,” said Obama.<br />

Ruto started a movement called Yes Youth Can that brings together young people to stand up for what is good and right while Owigar started Akirachix projects, which sensitizes and empowers women in informal settlements to earn a decent living.

Last week on 1st Saturday i went to Prestige HealthCare for a pelvic scan<br />
<br />
When i got there, told the lady at the customer care desk that i had gone for a pelvic scan, i had someone who had accompanied me, i was escorted inside and left (my boyfriend) waiting for me at the reception, someone wrote a request for me (Jeff M. K) was told to drink 3glasses of water as i wait for my turn.<br />
<br />
When i was eventually called, the procedure began, whoever was doing the scan asked me questions like if i have kids and would like to have some in future, after i was done, he said i had a growth in my uterus, and the doctor wanted to see me, i was taken to the doc, who told me i have a growth in my uterus and needed to be removed by surgery, and by the way he was talking he sounded like it had to be done immediately.<br />
<br />
I told him i wasn't ready for that, i need the results so that i seek a second and a third opinion before i settle for a surgery. The doctor (Mugo) said he was going to examine me before we later on schedule for a surgery. I told him someone accompanied me at the hospital i needed to inform him that i was being examined, Dr. Mugo told me he will send someone to inform him, and the examination was going to take just 20minutes.<br />
<br />
I kept my phone in my sling bag, was told to remove my trousers, after that was given the some clothe (surgery patients) to wear and told to climb ontop of the bed. I was begining to get scared, he sensed it but assured me it was just an examination.<br />
<br />
I was told to open my mouth, below my tongue, was given around 4 or 5 tablets, and he sent for a line injection which was put on my left hand. Little did i know the drugs were going to sedate me. Next thing i remember, i woke up in a room that looked like a ward, i was covered by a sheet, i didn't have my ***** on, was on my pz had a tampon which was removed.<br />
<br />
What even made me start regaining my senses was my boy friend causing ‘what have you done to her, what exactly have you given her, why wasn't i consulted' in a state of confusion, still drowsy, and scared, i asked for my bag, reached for my phone which i realized they had switched it off, my phone has a password so they removed the battery,..<br />
Told my bf i didn't have my *****, he went to call the lady at the customer care desk, whom i told to bring my *****, trouser and a pad, in the meantime, the doc had sent some C. O to put me on another drip which we refused, and my bf asked if they are going to charge for all the medications they administering to me without any consultation.<br />
<br />
I dreased up still drowsy and we left that place. To cut the long story short, i was never told i was going to be sedated, i have no idea what was done to me, i don't know how many women have gone through the same or worse than that. I have been up and down to Kasarani and Neema hospital i haven't got enough help, i cant find anyone to go check if the health care is a genuine one, one of the docs told me at Neema he suspects i might have been sedated and *****.<br />
<br />
A gynae suggested another pelvic scan done to me, i don't have any growth, may be this a method they use to extort money from people and do other crude things, the results they gave me had no report, i can clearly remember all those who attended to me. Kindly share this story, hide my identity, find a way to stop these quacks from doing further harm. Incase of anything you can reach me using 072*******<br />

There’s something terribly wrong with Nairobi Aviation College Students and this is evident with the way most of them behave in public.<br />

Even a simple thing like using an escalator is a problem to some of them  but as they say, you can take  somebody out of the village but you can never take the village out of him or her.<br />

 A few days ago,  petite socialite, Huddah Monroe, was on the receiving end after she downloaded photos from a  farming website and went ahead to brag how she is a successful farmer in Kitengela.<br />

Her rival socialite, Vera Sidika, joined other social media fans to lash out at Huddah Monroe for living a lie. And now, it seems that their war is far from over and things may soon turn ugly.<br />

Apparently, Vera has decided to launch a scathing attack on Huddah Monroe because of her childish behaviours. Vera claims that Huddah thinks that she rules the world just because she has made several foreign trips.<br />

This is Vera’s message to her rival socialite, Huddah Monroe.<br />
