Flamboyant Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has once again done what he loves doing - helping those in need and the less fortunate in society.<br />
<br />
The flamboyant Senator settled the entire medical bill for 69-year old Conrad Njeru Karukenya, popularly known as Tiger Power.<br />
<br />
Sonko settled the bill for Mr. Tiger Power, who had been admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital over a strange malady the doctors called body swelling, before he secured his release from hospital on Friday and took him home in person with the support of his rescue team.<br />
<br />
“Today, together with my paramedics, we visited Kenyan legend, Conrad Njeru Karukenya, also known as Tiger Power, at Kenyatta National Hospital. We cleared all his medical bills and took him home after he was discharged,” Sonko posted on social media.<br />
<br />
“Conrad Njeru is famed for his extraordinary strength and has performed across. Some of Conrad’s greatest feats include carrying 8 men and lifting a crate of beer with his bare teeth. In 2012, Conrad came in second at the Super Human competition in UK. We wish him a quick recovery,” he added.<br />
<br />
Since he was hospitalized, no high ranking Government official or celebrity, safe for Sonko and Jaguar, visited him despite his great achievements for Kenya in his prime.<br />

Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has done it again as he extends his philanthropy beyond Kenya’s borders.<br />
<br />
The flamboyant Senator offered to transport the decomposing body of a Kenyan youth, who was brutally murdered in Juba, South Sudan, under unclear circumstances, to Kenya together with his belongings after the Jubilee Government refused to help.<br />
<br />
Sonko was touched by the sad story of 21-year old Rodgers Oyaro Manono from Kisii, whose decomposing body was discovered on 12th of August in Juba, South Sudan.<br />
<br />
His poor family has been unable to ferry the body back home and their efforts to seek help from the Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, to fly the body of their kin to Kisii for a decent burial have been futile as the Government turned them down, prompting the South Sudan Government to resolve to bury the young Rodgers in a mass grave.<br />
<br />
However, when the story reached Sonko, he did not waste any time as he secured an air ticket to fly the body to Kenya via Fly 540 before the authorities in Juba complicated matters even further.<br />
<br />
Sonko did not give up there, he offered to transport the body to Kenya via road only to bump into another headwind - the body could not be identified as it had decomposed beyond recognition after it was piled up with other bodies and with no fridge.<br />
<br />
The family has now been left with no body to bury but to conduct a traditional funeral using the deceased’s belongings that Sonko will help them transport from Juba to Kisii.<br />
<br />
“We wish the Government could offer us support to identify the body and take our son’s remains to our village for a descent send off. However, we are grateful to Sonko and his rescue team for the support; even if we don’t have the body we will use the money to carry the late Oyaro’s belongings back home,” said one of the cousins to the deceased.<br />

Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has forgiven Governor Dr. Evans Kidero, Nairobi Women Rep, Rachel Shebesh, Maina Kamanda (Starehe), Dennis Waweru (Dagoretti South), and all others who have been throwing mud at him and soiling his good name in Nairobi.<br />
<br />
Speaking at a church function at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Ruaraka, Sonko caught everyone by surprise when he declared that he had forgiven all his enemies, just as the Bible dictates, and urged Kidero and his group to stop dragging his name in the mud by associating him with illegal drugs.<br />
<br />
He challenged his enemies to redirect their energies to providing solutions to the many problems facing residents of Nairobi rather than focus on ‘killing’ him politically.<br />
<br />
“I have decided to forgive my enemies (Kidero, Shebesh, Kamanda, Waweru) and tell them that this is not the time for political brinkmanship and shadow boxing; it is time to deliver services to the people of Nairobi who elected us,” Sonko said in church.<br />
<br />
The four have ganged up to edge Sonko out of Nairobi’s Gubernatorial race in 2017 and would do anything to achieve their goal.

Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has rejected former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s offer to be his running mate in 2017.<br />
<br />
Raila Odinga allegedly baited Sonko to dump President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, to join forces with him ahead of the 2017 General Elections with a promise of making him his deputy.<br />
<br />
The move came following discontent within Jubilee with Mt. Kenya mafia plotting to block Sonko from contesting for the Nairobi Governorship since he is an ‘outsider’.<br />
<br />
Things turned worse during Labour Day Celebrations at Uhuru Park, where President Uhuru Kenyatta lashed out at Sonko over his nefarious plot to destabilize Governor Evans Kidero’s Government through his philanthropic and charity work, which he termed as utter nonsense and warned him to respect the incumbent.<br />
<br />
The former PM told the Nairobi Senator to try his luck in CORD since he is not needed in Jubilee. Besides, Kikuyus will never support him for anything because they don’t support ‘outsiders’.<br />
<br />
However, despite all this, Sonko turned down Raila’s offer saying his loyalty lies with President Uhuru Kenyatta and will die with him.<br />
<br />
Nonetheless, the Nairobi Senator asked Raila to try his luck in 2022 perhaps he will agree to be his running mate.<br />
<br />
“Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has asked me to be his running mate in 2017, sorry Sir, I am loyal to H.E Uhuru Kenyatta. May be 2022 I’ll think about it," said Sonko on twitter.<br />
<br />
In a quick rejoinder, Raila, through ODM’s Director of Communication, Phillip Etale, denied ever asking Sonko to be his running mate.<br />
<br />
He said he only asked Sonko to be his mate in the jogging club and nothing else.

 Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko could be in deep trouble that may see him lose his Senatorial seat.<br />
Mike Sonko has missed 8 consecutive sittings of the Senate contrary to Standing Orders which stipulate that a seat can be be declared vacant if the incumbent misses 8 consecutive sittings.<br />

In a heated Senate session yesterday, Minority Leader, Moses Wetangula, asked the Speaker to declare the Nairobi Senatorial seat as vacant since Sonko has missed 8 sittings, arguing that he was absent without permission since his request to abdicate his Senate duties to step aside to facilitate room for investigations into corruption allegations levelled against him was rejected.<br />
<br />
Deputy Speaker, Kembi Gitura, confirmed that indeed Sonko’s request to step aside in compliance with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive was rejected.<br />
<br />
However, in a spirited fight, Sonko defended his decision saying he just complied with Uhuru’s directive and that as far as he is concerned, he followed the Standing Orders by informing the Speaker of his absence even though his request was rejected.<br />
<br />
Nonetheless, the Nairobi Senator told Wetangula and his haters that he was not afraid of losing his seat if things get to that point as long as he remains in Uhuru’s good books.<br />
<br />
“All I did was to comply with a Presidential directive for state officers mentioned in corruption scandals to step aside. I don't care losing my seat if that is what it will cost me by complying. There is life after politics even if I were to lose my seat,” Sonko said.<br />
<br />
It now remains to be seen how things will turn out for Sonko who has recently been attracting more enemies than friends, including Uhuru who bashed him on Labour Day.<br />

<b>Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko is among senior Governments who are mentioned in the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) list of shame that was tabled in Parliament by President Uhuru Kenyatta last week.</b><br />

<b>The flamboyant Senator, who is famous for his philanthropic work, is accused by the EACC of colluding with suspended Energy Cabinet Secretary, Davis Chirchir, in stealing Sh 1.39 billion from the Kenya Pipeline Company.</b><br />

<b>“Energy CS Chirchir is accused of attempts to influence a KPL tender award to SINOPEC, which was to yield Sh1.3b to be shared with Mike Sonko,” the EACC reports reads.</b><br />
