Even as CORD Principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula are yet to agree on who will fly the coalition’s flag in 2017 as its Presidential candidate, with both of them having been endorsed for the top seat in their respective parties, it has now emerged that the trio had a secret pre-2013 pact that may work against them.

Speaking yesterday, Mbooni MP, Kisoi Munyao, revealed that the three entered into a secret MoU before the 2013 General Election and that CORD stands to lose in 2017 to Uhuru/ Ruto if the agreement will not be honoured.

According to the MoU, Raila Odinga was to fly the CORD flag in 2013 as its Presidential candidate and then pass the baton to Kalonzo Musyoka in 2017 whether or not he wins. Kalonzo will then pass the baton to Wetangula in 2022.

Munyao warned Raila to honour the agreement and support Kalonzo for President in 2017 or else Kambas will never support him and CORD will fail again.

“The agreement was that we support the former Prime Minister up to 2017 and then pass the button to Kalonzo who would reciprocate in 2022 in favour of Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula,” said Munyao.

The Wiper legislator termed Raila as a spent cartridge saying only Kalonzo Musyoka stands a chance of beating Uhuru and Ruto because Raila is a failure.

“As a coalition led by Raila, we failed to beat the duo of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in the March 2013 elections. Just like he declared “Kibaki Tosha” in 2002, Raila should sacrifice his presidential ambition for the former VP,” said Munyao,
