Deputy President William Ruto has hit back at former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his CORD for always keeping the country in an election mood with their latest strategy being the so called Okoa Kenya referendum, which he said was a scheme to seize power through the backdoor.

Speaking at a fundraiser in Kinoru, Ruto warned Raila to drop his referendum bid or else he would wait for eternity to take over Government.

He noted that President Uhuru Kenyatta and him were chosen by God and that it would be difficult for anyone, especially Raila Odinga, to remove them from power.

Ruto accused CORD leaders of being pessimistic to the point that they don’t see anything good that Jubilee Government is doing.

“They have a warped mentality. They cannot see anything good happening. They have no idea what Kenya needs and where Kenyans want to go. Leaders are God-given and elections only identify those who He has chosen,” said Ruto.

“If you ask our competitors whether they have any alternatives to deliver development, they will tell you ‘let’s go for elections!’ When they lose in the elections, they will say we change the IEBC,” he added.
