Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, has criticized the Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, for forming a committee to investigate Police Airwing Commandant, Rodgers Mbithi, over claims that he used a police plane to fly his family at a time when the plane was needed to fly Recce Squad to Garissa to rescue students from Al Shabaab.

Speaking over the weekend, the former PM termed the move as a big joke and an insult to the bereaved families whose members were massacred by Al Shahaab due to lack of a plane to airlift Recce to save them.

Raila asked Uhuru/ Ruto to sack Mbithi with immediate effect because he is as guilty as charged saying there was nothing to investigate and everything was as clear as rain water.

“We know that 147 students died because one Mr. Rodgers took his family on a trip with a police plane. What is there to investigate? Uhuru/ Ruto should have sacked Mbithi like yesterday and stop wasting taxpayers’ money investigating the obvious,” thundered the former PM.
