A plane carrying former US President Bill Clinton was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Dodoma, Tanzania on Wednesday, after a technical fault.

According to CBS.com, one of the engines of the Canadian Turboprop Dash 7 aircraft developed a problem, but was fixed within 45 minutes, allowing the trip to continue.

The former US president was in Tanzania to assess projects intended to boost agriculture, health, education and wildlife conservation that are under the Clinton foundation.

Clinton and his daughter Chelsea are scheduled to arrive in Nairobi on Thursday and will stay in the country until May 3.
