Deputy President William Ruto has vehemently defended Leader of Majority in the National Assembly, Aden Duale, over allegations that he is an Al Shabaab sympathizer.

This comes even as leaders both from the Opposition and Government demanded for the sacking and arrest of Duale for aiding and abetting terror activities in the country.

Last week, Duale sensationally claimed that he knew Al Shabaab terrorists and their sympathizers in Kenya just after the massacre of 147 students in Garissa University, a move that prompted Kenyans and political leaders to brand him an Al Shabaab.

However, speaking yesterday, Ruto defended his friend, Duale, saying he is not a terrorists but a patriotic Kenyan who always wants the best for the country.

He noted that Duale had been an anti-terror crusader for long and his statement over Al Shabaab for which he is being crucified was misquoted saying he only meant he will weed out terrorists from his community and not otherwise.

The Deputy President thanked Duale, who is also the Garissa Township MP, for the good job he is doing to help the Jubilee Government in its war against extremism and terror in the country.

He revealed that the Majority Leader and the Muslim community were now working with Government to expose terrorists from their hideouts.
