Police have made remarkable progress in Kabete MP, George Muchai’s murder investigation after they arrested all the four suspects who participated in the assassination of the late Jubilee legislator in cold blood.
Police also recovered the murder weapons, a G3 rifle, seven bullets and mobile phones, as well as a
pistol belonging to one of Muchai’s bodyguards which was stolen by the gunman after committing the heinous act.

This comes even as the court allowed the police to detain the first suspect, Simon Wambugu Gichamba, for two more weeks as they continue gathering more evidence against him.

The latest suspect was arrested in Ruiru Town and led the police to Uthiru where they recovered the murder weapons among other weapons and made arrests of two more suspects.

“We have all the four suspects who participated in the murder of Muchai and his aides, and all the guns they had. The guns include a rifle and pistols,” said Samuel Arachi, the acting Inspector General of Police.

The police also said they discovered the motive of the attackers and it was just a matter of time before they wrap up the whole investigation for the culprits to face justice.

At this pace, Muchai’s assassination could be the first ever high profile murder to be resolved within the least time possible
