The widow of the late Kabete MP, George Muchai, Susan, has read foul play in the murder of her husband blaming the police for his death.

Speaking during an interview for the first time after the Saturday’s murder, Susan revealed that her husband was still alive after being shot by the assassin but police refused to let her save him and let him die in cold blood.

Susan noted after the incident, she rushed to the scene to see if there was still anyone among the four who was still breathing in order to rush him to hospital. However, upon reaching the crime scene, the police, who had cordoned off the area, confirmed to her that Muchai was still breathing but refused to let her take him to hospital saying only an ambulance doctor could touch someone who is injured.

Instead, they told her to go and wait for Muchai at Nairobi Hospital for just about five minutes. But that didn’t happen as the ambulance arrived almost 45 minutes later at the crime scene, and had to wait for another one hour for Muchai to be brought to the hospital, which was by then too late.

Susan expressed anger saying the police finished her husband, because if they let her have her way, he would have saved him but they just didn’t want him to live.

Besides, she noted that the police were interested in her writing a statement first instead of rushing Muchai to hospital for emergency treatment as he was bleeding profusely.

“Police wanted my husband dead, that’s why they refused me to take him to hospital. He was still alive but they just finished him instead of saving him,” said the visibly angry Susan.
