Embu Governor Martin Wambora is a man haunted by many controversies and scandals, hoping from one to another and has become part and parcel of them, or so it seems.

After a fierce battle with his MCAs that saw him impeached twice by the Assembly and the Senate, and the subsequent ruling of the court that upheld his impeachment for misappropriating County resources, Wambora is in yet another controversial scandal, this time involving women.

This is after he was given only 7 days to apologize to the women of Embu for attacking them and displaying the underwears of Runyenjes MP, Cecil Mbarire, and his Deputy, Dorothy Nditi.

Speaking yesterday, women leaders in Embu, led  by Maendeleo Ya Wanawake chair Mary Kavinda and female MCAs, accused Wambora of demeaning the women of Embu by carrying and displaying underwears which had Mbarire and Dorothy’s names written on them in public during a recent protest match against the court ruling that upheld his impeachment.

They described the display of Mbarire and Dorothy’s panties as a sexist attack on women and gave him seven days to apologize to the two and all the women of Embu or he faces their wrath.

“We are shocked by the calculated sexist attack. Mbarire and Dorothy have not impeached anybody to warrant Wambora to display their panties in public. Male politicians should learn to carry their crosses and stop using women leaders as scapegoats,” said Ms. Kavinda.

Wambora has blamed his impeachment on Mbarire and Dorothy who he accused of bribing MCAs to send him home for them to take over.
