According to Daily Nation, Vera ranked highest alongside the World Cup as Kenyans demonstrated their love for the sport putting it in the general trending searches.
Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) came in a close second while former Interior and National Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku occupied the fifth most popular meme.
Other popular local searches were Ebola symptoms, Kermit memes, What is trans-coding, How to survive, OLX, wazua.co.ke and Maseno University. Prominent people who died during the year also made the list including, former Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang’, Dr Myles Munroe and American comedian Robin Williams.
While Manchester United players Angel Di Maria and Juan Mata made the sixth and tenth most Googled people in Kenya.
