During a recent interview with Citizen TV’s Sylvia Chebet, Arunga said that she was in Australia to stay and was not planning to come back to Kenya. She said this in response to the campaign started on her behalf by Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, dubbed #BringEstherArungaHome.
Despite losing all her family in Australia; with her husband in jail and her living child placed in foster care, Esther remained unshaken in her resolve to stay.
Esther earlier in the year made the headlines, after she was arrested in Australia for the murder of their two year-old son. In later development, it was revealed that Arunga’s husband Quincy Timberlake was responsible for the murder of the boy allegedly trying to save him from aliens.
Esther was set free before the hearing but warned by the authority not to leave the city or country before the trial of her husband.
