Controversial preacher Bishop Wahome has raised eyebrows after offering to support the twins, one of whom was stripped in Kayole during the recent attacks on women.

The Helicopter Ministries bishop claims to have received a vision from God to help Regina Nyambura and her sister Martha Wambui. He has since offered to pay their rent , upkeep and fund any business they wish to pursue.

Speaking to The Standard, Wahome claims to have been deeply touched when he heard about their story in the media.

"When I saw the clip on TV, my heart sank. It is wrong, disrespectful and evil to strip a woman. It is a shameful act and I am glad the police finally managed to arrest the culprits. I have decided to help the two sisters given the stress and trauma visited upon them, as a man of God, I cannot just sit and watch these women suffering. Just like the Bible says, what the right hand gives, the left hand should not know. I have decided to help these women after God instructed me in a vision to do so."

"One of the siters; Marth reveals that they have been living in fear since some of the men who stripped and sexually abused Nyambura were arrested.

we have been sleeping in lodgings and at friends’ houses because we fear for our safety. Neighbours said irate men have been around our house,” Martha claims

Wahome insists that it is wrong to judge a woman by what she wears saying that character is not always defined by the choice of dress.

Wahome has been in the spot like for all the wrong reasons just like his counterpart in the business, the recently exposed pastor Kanyari.

He has been accused severally of manipulative incidents in an effort to scam the members of his congregation. The most recent tactic that hit the headlines was when he began charging his followers KES. 200 claiming to have the power to see the proverbial 'Book of Life'.

The book of life in most religious circles is a register that people believe one must check their name against in order to enter into heaven. And Wahome is alleged to claim that he holds the power to see and even add names to the book, which blew up in a scandal, early this year.

The masses are concerned for the future of Nyambura and Martha and suspect that Wahome may have another trick up his sleeves, but for now, we can only pray and hope that they find the help they need and that Wahome only means well.
