President Uhuru Kenyatta has confirmed that he is the one who invited US President, Barrack Obama, to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in mid July.

Speaking through social media on Monday evening, Uhuru said he personally invited the US President in February and he was happy that he has accepted his invitation.

“United States of America President Barrack Obama will visit Kenya in July at my invitation,” Uhuru posted on his Face book wall.

Obama, whose father is from Kenya, will be accompanied by his wife Michelle Obama and his two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

Kenya's Ambassador to the US, Njeru Githae, has also confirmed that the US President called him on Sunday evening and informed him that he will be touring Kenya in mid July.

Obama’s tour has already generated mixed reactions in Kenya with many saying he has finally remembered his father’s land.

Obama was born of a Kenyan father, Barrack Obama Snr, who was a Harvard trained economist.

His father died in an accident in November 1982.
